Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Isotera is a branded generic formulation of docetaxel, a semi-synthetic antineoplastic agent belonging to the taxane class. Developed by NangKuang Pharma, it is approved for the treatment of various malignancies, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), prostate cancer, gastric adenocarcinoma, and head and neck cancer. Docetaxel works by binding to and stabilizing tubulin, thereby promoting microtubule assembly and inhibiting depolymerization. This action leads to the arrest of the cell cycle in the G2/M phase and ultimately induces apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Isotera is provided as a concentrate for infusion in multiple strengths, including 20 mg/mL and 40 mg/mL formulations.
