Isoxepac (HP 549) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic activity. It belongs to the arylacetic acid derivative class of NSAIDs. Isoxepac has been studied for the treatment of postoperative pain after knee surgery for meniscectomy, with 200 mg appearing to be the minimal effective dose. In rheumatoid arthritis treatment, isoxepac showed significantly fewer adverse effects compared to other NSAIDs. It has also been studied for the management of dysmenorrhea.
