Ispagel

Ispagel is a bulk-forming laxative developed by Bristol Laboratories, containing 3.5 g of ispaghula husk per sachet. As a natural fiber, ispaghula husk absorbs up to 40 times its own weight in water, which increases the bulk of the stools and physically encourages peristalsis to move waste through the digestive system. It is indicated for the relief of constipation, including during pregnancy, and for maintaining regularity in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), hemorrhoids, anal fissures, colostomies, and chronic diarrhea associated with diverticular disease or ulcerative colitis. The product is typically formulated as orange-flavored granules intended for oral suspension.
