ISS-1018 immunostimulatory oligonucleotide + irinotecan + cetuximab is an investigational combination drug comprised of three agents: ISS-1018, a synthetic unmethylated CpG oligodeoxynucleotide with immunostimulatory effects via Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9); irinotecan, a topoisomerase I inhibitor used as an antineoplastic cytotoxic agent; and cetuximab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). ISS-1018 is designed to activate innate and adaptive immunity by inducing interferons and other immune mediators, promoting antigen presentation and co-stimulatory molecule expression. Irinotecan is used to inhibit DNA replication in cancer cells, and cetuximab blocks EGFR-mediated signaling, inhibiting tumor growth and survival. This combination is being evaluated primarily for colorectal cancer, leveraging synergistic immunostimulatory and anti-tumor mechanisms[1].
