Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ISV-014 is an experimental retinal drug delivery system developed by InSite Vision, a subsidiary of Sun Pharma. The system utilizes proprietary mucoadhesive polymer technology, likely based on the DuraSite or DuraSite 2 platforms, which are designed to enhance the residence time and bioavailability of therapeutic agents in ocular tissues. ISV-014 is specifically engineered for the sustained release of medications into the posterior segment of the eye to treat chronic retinal conditions such as diabetic macular edema (DME) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). By providing a long-acting formulation, the system aims to reduce the frequency of invasive intravitreal injections. As of recent pipeline updates, ISV-014 remains in the pre-clinical stage of development.
