Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ISV-101 is a novel ophthalmic drug candidate developed by InSite Vision for the treatment of dry eye disease. It combines a low dose of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) bromfenac with InSite Vision’s proprietary DuraSite delivery technology, which enhances ocular drug retention and absorption. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 (COX-1 and COX-2) pathways, thereby reducing inflammation associated with dry eye disease. ISV-101 was designed to address unmet needs in dry eye therapy by providing effective anti-inflammatory action with improved ocular bioavailability due to the DuraSite vehicle[1][3][4][5][9].
