Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ISV-102 is a tetracycline-based ophthalmic solution developed by InSite Vision for the treatment of ocular infections. The drug candidate utilizes InSite Vision's proprietary DuraSite drug delivery technology, a mucoadhesive polymer-based system designed to extend the residence time of the active ingredient on the ocular surface. By increasing the duration of drug exposure, ISV-102 aims to improve therapeutic efficacy and potentially allow for less frequent dosing compared to standard antibiotic eye drops. The active tetracycline component functions as a broad-spectrum antibiotic by binding to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. As of the last public pipeline updates prior to InSite Vision's acquisition by Sun Pharma, ISV-102 was in the IND-enabling phase of development.
