Overview

ISV-215 is an ophthalmic drug candidate developed by InSite Vision (now a subsidiary of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries) for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The product consists of a prostaglandin analog formulated within the proprietary DuraSite drug delivery system. DuraSite is a mucoadhesive, polymer-based vehicle (typically utilizing polycarbophil) designed to extend the residence time of the active ingredient on the ocular surface, which may enhance therapeutic efficacy or allow for less frequent dosing compared to conventional eye drops. As a prostaglandin analog, ISV-215 acts as an agonist at the prostaglandin F (FP) receptor, facilitating the drainage of aqueous humor through the uveoscleral outflow pathway to lower intraocular pressure. At the time of InSite Vision's acquisition by Sun Pharma, ISV-215 was in the IND-enabling phase of development.
