ISX9-CPC is a patented, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cardiac progenitor cell (CPC) therapy developed by IPS HEART for the treatment of heart failure and rare cardiomyopathies, including Duchenne and Danon Cardiomyopathy. The therapy is produced by using the small molecule ISX-9 (isoxazole 9) to direct the differentiation of iPSCs into functional CPCs. Once administered, these cells are intended to regenerate functional human heart muscle and reduce cardiac fibrosis by replacing scar tissue with new, contractile myocardium. The program has completed a Pre-IND meeting with the FDA and has been granted multiple Rare Pediatric Drug Designations for its target indications.
