Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ItchStop is a topical over-the-counter (OTC) anti-itch cream developed by Ryvis Pharma. It is a combination product containing 1% hydrocortisone, a low-potency topical corticosteroid, and Aloe vera. Hydrocortisone acts as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to downregulate the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators. This mechanism effectively reduces skin redness, swelling, and pruritus. The addition of Aloe vera provides a soothing effect to the skin. ItchStop is indicated for the temporary relief of itching and inflammation associated with minor skin irritations, including dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, insect bites, and rashes caused by contact with poison ivy, oak, or sumac.
