Overview

The ITGB2-derived neoantigen vaccine is an experimental personalized cancer immunotherapy developed by Sichuan Cancer Hospital for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This vaccine targets specific neoantigens arising from mutations in the ITGB2 (Integrin Subunit Beta 2) gene, which are identified within the patient's tumor. By administering these tumor-specific peptides, the therapy aims to stimulate the patient's immune system, particularly activating CD8+ and CD4+ T cells to recognize and eliminate cancer cells expressing the ITGB2 neoantigen. This precision oncology approach is designed to provide a targeted anti-tumor response while minimizing off-target effects on healthy tissues. It is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to assess its safety and immunogenicity in patients with advanced or recurrent HCC.
