ITIL-168 was an investigational, autologous cell therapy composed of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) derived from each patient's own digested and cryopreserved tumor tissue. The therapy was designed to offer an unrestricted T-cell receptor repertoire, aiming to harness the patient’s immune system for antitumor activity. ITIL-168 was manufactured using a proprietary process developed by Instil Bio to maximize the diversity of TILs and provide scheduling flexibility for both patients and physicians. It was primarily developed for advanced (unresectable or metastatic) cutaneous melanoma, particularly in patients who have relapsed after or are refractory/intolerant to PD-1 inhibitor therapies. Clinical studies demonstrated promising response rates in this population. The clinical development programs for ITIL-168 were discontinued by Instil Bio as of December 2022.
