Overview

ITIL-306 is an autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) cell therapy genetically engineered to express a proprietary costimulatory antigen receptor (CoStAR) molecule. This CoStAR molecule is activated by folate receptor alpha (FRα), which is overexpressed in certain solid tumors. Upon engagement with FRα in the tumor microenvironment, the CoStAR provides robust synthetic costimulatory signals that enhance T-cell proliferation, cytokine release, cytolytic activity, and persistence of the infused T cells. The goal of this engineering is to improve anti-tumor efficacy and potentially eliminate the need for high-dose interleukin-2 post-infusion. ITIL-306 is being developed by Instil Bio for use in patients with advanced solid tumors including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), ovarian cancer (epithelial ovarian cancer), and renal cell carcinoma who have relapsed from or are refractory to standard therapies[1][2][3][5][6][7].
