ITM-64 is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical currently in preclinical development by Isotope Technologies Garching (ITM). It consists of the positron-emitting radioisotope Gallium-68 (Ga-68) conjugated to a somatostatin receptor (SSTR) antagonist peptide. Designed for use in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging, ITM-64 targets SSTR-expressing tumors, such as neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). As an antagonist, it binds to the receptor without triggering internalization, potentially offering higher binding site availability and improved imaging sensitivity compared to traditional SSTR agonists. ITM-64 is developed as the diagnostic companion (theranostic pair) to ITM-63, a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical labeled with Lutetium-177.
