Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ITZ-DerMap is a proprietary microneedle patch delivery system for the antifungal drug itraconazole, developed by ArrayPatch, a spin-out from University College Cork. It is specifically designed for the treatment of onychomycosis (fungal nail infection). The patch utilizes microneedle technology to penetrate the nail plate and deliver the active pharmaceutical ingredient directly to the site of infection in the nail bed. This localized delivery approach aims to improve efficacy while avoiding the systemic side effects and drug-drug interactions typically associated with oral itraconazole therapy, such as hepatotoxicity.
