Overview
IUB PRIMA is an intrauterine drug-delivery system developed as a targeted, controlled-release platform for the local treatment of uterine disorders. It utilizes OCON Therapeutics' proprietary IntraUterine Ball (IUB) 3D frame technology, which is designed to fit the uterine cavity and minimize risks such as malposition and perforation. The device delivers low-dose therapies directly to the uterus, aiming to reduce systemic side effects associated with oral or parenteral drugs. Its initial application is for long-term reversible contraception and management of heavy menstrual bleeding by locally releasing levonorgestrel into the uterine cavity. The platform also serves as a proof-of-concept for future targeted treatments of endometriosis and myomas/uterine fibroids using other drugs[2][4][6].
