IVB110 is an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy being developed by InnoVec Biotherapeutics for the treatment of Stargardt disease. Stargardt disease is an inherited form of macular degeneration typically caused by mutations in the *ABCA4* gene, which encodes a transmembrane protein essential for the transport of retinoids in photoreceptor cells. A deficiency in ABCA4 leads to the accumulation of toxic lipofuscin and bisretinoids, resulting in progressive retinal cell death and vision loss. IVB110 is designed to deliver a functional copy of the *ABCA4* gene to the retina via intravitreal injection, aiming to restore protein function, normalize the visual cycle, and prevent further degeneration. As of early 2024, the program is in the discovery stage of development.
