Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ivectosol is a proprietary **solubilized ivermectin** formulation being developed by **Mountain Valley MD Holdings**. It is a **small molecule** product in which the active ingredient ivermectin is reformulated using the company's Quicksol solubilization platform, with additional development of oral film and sublingual wafer presentations using Quicksome desiccated liposome technology. The program has been positioned for multiple potential uses, including antiparasitic treatment in humans and animals, antiviral development for COVID-19, and oncology applications as an adjuvant to chemotherapy or immunotherapy in tumors such as triple-negative breast cancer, metastatic melanoma, and Lewis lung carcinoma. Mechanistically, the active drug is ivermectin, a macrocyclic lactone antiparasitic that primarily targets glutamate-gated chloride channels in invertebrates, causing parasite neuromuscular paralysis; proposed antiviral and anticancer effects remain exploratory and are not established clinical mechanisms for this formulation.
