Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic medication that was hypothesized to reduce viral load, while colchicine is an anti-inflammatory agent that was thought to reduce inflammation in COVID-19 patients. Clinical trials have not shown beneficial effects of this combination over standard care in COVID-19 treatment.
