Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVIEW-1201D is an investigational ophthalmic combination drug developed by IVIEW Therapeutics for the treatment of adenoviral conjunctivitis (viral pink eye). The formulation consists of low-dose povidone-iodine (PVP-I), a broad-spectrum antiseptic with potent antiviral activity, and difluprednate (DFBA), a highly potent corticosteroid. This dual-action therapy is designed to address both the underlying viral infection and the significant ocular inflammation associated with the disease. By combining the antimicrobial properties of PVP-I with the anti-inflammatory effects of difluprednate, IVIEW-1201D aims to reduce the duration and severity of adenoviral conjunctivitis, for which there are currently no FDA-approved treatments. As of late 2025, the drug has received Phase III IND clearance and is being evaluated in global Phase III clinical trials.
