Drug intelligence / Profile preview
iVIZIA is a line of over-the-counter (OTC) ophthalmic products developed by Théa Pharma for the management of dry eye disease and eyelid hygiene. The flagship product, iVIZIA Sterile Lubricant Eye Drops, is a preservative-free formulation containing povidone (0.5%) as the active ingredient, along with hyaluronic acid and trehalose. This combination is designed to provide extended relief by stabilizing the tear film, rehydrating the ocular surface, and providing bioprotection against desiccation. Hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the tear film, enhances water retention by binding up to 1,000 times its weight in water, while trehalose acts as an osmoprotectant and bioprotectant for corneal epithelial cells. The product is marketed for patients with various types of dry eye, including those who wear contact lenses, and is based on the formulation of the European product Thealoz Duo.
