Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVL2001 is a long-acting, microsphere-based injectable formulation of **ivermectin** developed by **Inventage Lab** for the prevention of heartworm (*Dirofilaria immitis*) in dogs. Utilizing the proprietary **IVL-DrugFlow** platform, IVL2001 provides a sustained release of the active ingredient, enabling a three-month duration of protection from a single injection, which improves compliance compared to traditional monthly oral or topical treatments. The product was developed in collaboration with **Onheal** and is marketed under the brand name **Iverlong**. Ivermectin, the active component, is a macrocyclic lactone that induces paralysis and death in parasites by activating glutamate-gated chloride channels.
