Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVL3013 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) small molecule formulation of a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, currently under development by Inventage Lab for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). By inhibiting the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, the drug prevents the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the primary androgen responsible for prostate growth. IVL3013 utilizes Inventage Lab's proprietary IVL-Drug-Fluidic microsphere technology to provide sustained drug release, aiming to overcome the compliance issues associated with daily oral dosing of conventional BPH medications. The program has completed GLP toxicology studies and is progressing toward clinical evaluation.
