IVL3021

IVL3021 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) formulation of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist semaglutide, designed for once-monthly subcutaneous administration. Developed by Inventage Lab using its proprietary IVL-DrugFluidics® microsphere technology, IVL3021 aims to provide sustained drug exposure and improved treatment adherence compared to standard weekly formulations like Wegovy. In preclinical studies using rat diet-induced obesity models, IVL3021 demonstrated durable body weight reduction, improved metabolic markers (triglycerides, AST, ALT), and reduced body fat mass, with effects lasting up to 8 weeks after a single dose. The formulation is intended to minimize the plasma concentration fluctuations and rapid weight regain often associated with shorter-acting GLP-1 therapies.
