Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVL5005 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) currently in preclinical development by Inventage Lab, in partnership with Yuhan Health & Living, for the treatment of epilepsy. The candidate utilizes Inventage Lab's proprietary IVL-DrugFluidic® platform, a microfluidics-based technology that produces highly uniform microspheres for the sustained release of small molecule drugs. IVL5005 is designed to be administered once monthly, providing stable plasma concentrations of CBD and potentially overcoming the bioavailability and compliance challenges associated with existing oral CBD therapies. By maintaining consistent therapeutic levels, the formulation aims to optimize the anti-seizure effects of CBD, which are mediated through the modulation of targets such as GPR55 and TRPV1 channels.
