Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVT GBS‑06 is a hexavalent conjugate vaccine developed by Inventprise for the prevention of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infections, particularly targeting maternal immunization to protect newborns. The vaccine contains capsular polysaccharides from six different serotypes of GBS, each conjugated to a carrier protein (CRM197), designed to stimulate an immune response and generate protective antibodies against multiple strains of the bacterium. It is currently being evaluated in phase I/II clinical trials in healthy, non-pregnant women of childbearing age in the US and South Africa. The primary mechanism of action is immunostimulation through induction of anti-capsular polysaccharide IgG antibodies that mediate opsonophagocytic killing of GBS[1][2][3][7].
