Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVT Shigella-04 is a quadrivalent conjugate vaccine under development by Inventprise for the prevention of shigellosis, an infectious disease caused by *Shigella* bacteria. The vaccine is designed to reduce morbidity and mortality from shigellosis and may also help decrease antibiotic use and the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. It targets multiple serotypes of *Shigella*, aiming to provide broad protection and potentially contribute to herd immunity against all-cause diarrhea. The World Health Organization has identified *Shigella* as a priority pathogen in need of effective vaccines. Development of IVT Shigella-04 is supported by funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation[1].
