IVX-121 is a vaccine candidate developed by Icosavax for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. It is based on a computationally designed virus-like particle (VLP) platform technology, licensed from the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design. The vaccine incorporates a stabilized prefusion F antigen, known as DS-Cav1 (or DC-Cav1), which was licensed from the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This VLP vaccine aims to elicit a protective immune response against RSV by presenting the prefusion F protein, a key target for neutralizing antibodies.
