Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVX-A12 is a bivalent, virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate designed to protect against both respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV). Developed by Icosavax (acquired by AstraZeneca), the vaccine utilizes computationally designed protein nanoparticle technology originating from the University of Washington. It is intended for older adults, a population at high risk for severe respiratory infections, and aims to be the first combination vaccine to address both pathogens simultaneously. The vaccine is currently Phase III-ready.
