Overview

The "IXO regimen" refers to a combination chemotherapy protocol that includes ixazomib (a proteasome inhibitor), dexamethasone (a corticosteroid), and lenalidomide (an immunomodulatory agent). When combined with bevacizumab—a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)—the regimen is designed for enhanced anti-tumor activity. Bevacizumab works by binding to VEGF and inhibiting angiogenesis, thereby reducing tumor vascularization and growth[3][6][8]. This combination is primarily investigated or used in the treatment of various cancers where anti-angiogenic therapy may provide benefit.
