izituzumab

Izituzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody (IgG1 kappa) that targets interleukin-17A (IL-17A), developed by the Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, which is affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Primarily indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, izituzumab acts by binding specifically to the IL-17A cytokine. This binding prevents IL-17A from interacting with its receptor complex, thereby blocking the downstream pro-inflammatory signaling pathways that drive the pathogenesis of psoriasis, including the recruitment of inflammatory cells and the hyperproliferation of keratinocytes. The drug has been evaluated in early-phase clinical trials in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy.
