Drug intelligence / Profile preview
J4 is a small molecule compound designed to modulate nucleoside homeostasis by interacting with the equilibrative nucleoside transporter-1 (ENT1). Preclinical studies have shown that oral administration of J4 can rescue memory and cognitive dysfunction in animal models of Alzheimer's disease. Its mechanism involves increasing brain nucleoside levels and facilitating brain primary metabolism, including glucose metabolism and the pentose phosphate pathway.
