Jabuticaba leaf oral digested fraction refers to the bioactive components of *Myrciaria cauliflora* leaves that have been processed through simulated gastrointestinal digestion. This fraction is characterized by a distinct phenolic profile compared to crude extracts, containing compounds such as 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid and ferulic acid, alongside quercetin 3-glucoside and gallic acid. Research indicates that these digested fractions exhibit significant antiproliferative and cytotoxic effects on hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells in both 2D and 3D cultures. The mechanism involves the induction of apoptotic and necrotic cell death, inhibition of cell migration, and potent antioxidant activity against reactive oxygen species (ROS). It is primarily being investigated as a potential nutraceutical for the prevention or treatment of liver cancer.
