JADE-001

JADE-001 is a potential best-in-class monoclonal antibody developed by Jade Biosciences to block the APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand) protein, which plays a key role in the development of IgA nephropathy (IgAN), a chronic kidney disease caused by IgA-mediated inflammation and damage. By targeting APRIL, JADE-001 aims to reduce IgA levels, lower proteinuria (a marker of kidney damage), and preserve long-term kidney function. The antibody is engineered for superior potency and extended half-life compared to other anti-APRIL monoclonal antibodies in development, allowing for infrequent dosing suitable for lifelong therapy. Investigational New Drug-enabling studies are underway with first-in-human trials expected in the second half of 2025[1][2][4].
