Overview
Jag1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Jagged-1 (JAG1) gene. Jagged-1 is a transmembrane protein that serves as a ligand for Notch receptors, playing a pivotal role in the Notch signaling pathway which regulates cell differentiation, proliferation, and survival. By targeting JAG1 mRNA for degradation through the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), Jag1 siRNA effectively reduces Jagged-1 protein levels. This tool is widely used in preclinical research to investigate the role of Notch signaling in various pathological conditions, including triple-negative breast cancer, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, and viral infections like respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
