Jagegliflozin (XZP-3287) is a selective sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor developed by Shandong Xuanzhu Pharmaceutical Technology, a subsidiary of Sihuan Pharmaceutical. It is designed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug works by inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules of the kidneys, which prevents the reabsorption of glucose back into the bloodstream and promotes its excretion through urine. This insulin-independent mechanism helps lower blood glucose levels and has been evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy and safety, including in patients with varying degrees of renal impairment. As of recent clinical registry data, jagegliflozin has progressed into Phase 3 clinical development in China.
