Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jaglitin (XZP-3287) is an orally active, selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor developed by Shandong Xuanzhu Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Sihuan Pharmaceutical) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, jaglitin prevents the degradation of incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). This leads to increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving glycemic control. Jaglitin received approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in June 2024 for the management of blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes.
