Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Janus-60 is an oral tablet formulation of dapoxetine (60 mg) developed and marketed by Davipharm (an Adamed Group company) for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men aged 18 to 64. Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that physically binds to and inhibits the sodium-dependent serotonin transporter (SERT). By inhibiting serotonin reuptake, it increases serotonin activity in the synaptic cleft, which subsequently delays the ejaculatory reflex and improves control over ejaculation. Unlike other SSRIs used for depression, dapoxetine is rapidly absorbed and eliminated, making it suitable for on-demand administration 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity.
