japanese cedar pollen extract

TO-194SL, marketed under the brand name CEDARTOLEN, is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) liquid formulation developed by Torii Pharmaceutical for the treatment of Japanese cedar pollinosis. It contains a standardized extract of Japanese cedar (*Cryptomeria japonica*) pollen allergens, primarily Cry j 1 and Cry j 2. The drug is administered sublingually on a daily basis to induce immunological tolerance, thereby reducing the allergic response and alleviating symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis caused by Japanese cedar pollen. Approved in Japan in 2014, it was the first SLIT product available for this indication. Long-term studies, including Phase IV evaluations, have assessed its efficacy over multi-year treatment periods and the persistence of its therapeutic effects after treatment cessation.
