Boryung Cell-culture Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine is an inactivated, Vero cell-derived vaccine developed by Boryung Biopharma for active immunization against Japanese encephalitis (JE). It is produced by cultivating the Beijing-1 strain of the Japanese encephalitis virus in Vero cells, followed by purification and inactivation with formaldehyde. This cell-culture method is designed to reduce the risk of adverse reactions associated with older mouse brain-derived vaccines. The vaccine is approved in South Korea for pediatric and adult populations and is administered via subcutaneous injection.
