Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JAQ1 is a rat IgG2a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets platelet glycoprotein VI (GPVI), the major platelet collagen receptor. Developed by Emfret Analytics, JAQ1 binds to the collagen-binding and collagen-related peptide (CRP)-binding sites on GPVI, blocking collagen-induced platelet activation, aggregation, and thrombus formation. In vivo administration of JAQ1 in mouse models leads to transient thrombocytopenia followed by the long-term, irreversible downregulation and depletion of GPVI from the platelet surface via ectodomain shedding. This creates a stable GPVI-low phenotype that maintains hemostatic function while providing antithrombotic protection. JAQ1 is widely utilized as a research tool to study GPVI-mediated pathogenic mechanisms in cardiovascular diseases, ischemic stroke, and rare genetic disorders such as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS).
