Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jasmate and BioMin F are specialized dentifrice formulations evaluated as adjuncts to scaling and root planing (SRP) for the treatment of chronic periodontitis. BioMin F is a bioactive glass-based toothpaste containing fluoro-calcium phosphosilicate, which provides a sustained release of fluoride, calcium, and phosphate ions to form acid-resistant fluorapatite, aiding in tooth remineralization and dentinal tubule occlusion. Jasmate is a herbal dentifrice formulated with natural extracts intended to provide antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. These formulations were compared in a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT04143399) conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital to determine their clinical efficacy in improving periodontal health markers such as plaque index, gingival index, and clinical attachment levels in adult patients.
