Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JBZ-002 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) being developed by Jabez Biosciences. DHODH is a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the rate-limiting step in the de novo pyrimidine synthesis pathway. By inhibiting this enzyme, JBZ-002 aims to deplete intracellular pyrimidine levels, thereby inducing metabolic stress and inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells, particularly in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The specific clinical development strategy for JBZ-002 is currently under evaluation.
