JC005

JC005 is a small molecule phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor developed by Beijing Jiacheng Biomedical Technology Development for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It functions by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, which is responsible for the degradation of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the corpus cavernosum. By maintaining higher levels of cGMP, JC005 promotes smooth muscle relaxation and increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, thereby facilitating an erection. The drug is being developed as a potent and selective alternative to existing PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil and tadalafil, with the goal of providing improved efficacy and a favorable safety profile.
