Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This preclinical-stage synthetic long peptide vaccine is being developed by Belyntic for the prevention and treatment of John Cunningham virus (JCV) reactivation and Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) in immunocompromised patients. The vaccine utilizes Belyntic's proprietary T-Fender platform technology, which consists of self-adjuvanting, self-aggregating synthetic long peptides designed to elicit robust T cell responses against JCV. By stimulating cellular immunity, the vaccine aims to control JCV infection and prevent the destruction of oligodendrocytes in the brain's white matter, which leads to PML. The development is conducted in collaboration with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
