Overview

JCXH-105 is an investigational self-replicating RNA (srRNA) vaccine developed by Immorna for the prevention of Herpes Zoster (shingles) in adults aged 50 and older. Unlike conventional mRNA vaccines, srRNA technology utilizes a viral replicase to enable the RNA to self-amplify within host cells, potentially allowing for lower doses while achieving high levels of antigen expression and robust immune responses. The vaccine is designed to stimulate both humoral and cellular immunity against the Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV). JCXH-105 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials, where its safety and immunogenicity are being compared to the established recombinant zoster vaccine, Shingrix.
