JCXH-221 is a monovalent, broadly protective mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The vaccine utilizes messenger RNA (mRNA) technology encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNP), enabling delivery and expression of the encoded antigen in host cells to elicit an immune response. It is designed to provide broad protection against COVID-19 variants. The developer, Immorna Hangzhou Biotechnology, is focused on RNA-based therapeutics and vaccines. As of early 2025, JCXH-221 is in Phase II clinical development for COVID-19[1][2][3][6][7].
