Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JD012-CEL is an investigational, "off-the-shelf" chimeric antigen receptor natural killer (CAR-NK) cell therapy developed by Beijing Jingda Biotechnology in collaboration with Guangzhou Xiling Biotechnology. The therapy consists of NK cells, typically derived from umbilical cord blood, that have been genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for Mesothelin (MSLN). Mesothelin is a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly overexpressed in various aggressive solid tumors, including pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, and mesothelioma, while maintaining limited expression in normal tissues. By utilizing NK cells rather than T cells, JD012-CEL aims to provide a potent anti-tumor response with a potentially superior safety profile, characterized by a lower risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced MSLN-positive solid tumors.
