Jeevaloga Chendooram

Jeevaloga Chendooram is a classical Siddha metallic-mineral preparation (Chendooram) used in traditional Indian medicine. It is formulated through the intensive processing of purified mercury and sulfur, often involving incineration with specific herbal juices to create a red-colored powder. Historically attributed to the Siddhar lineage, it is primarily indicated for chronic respiratory conditions such as bronchial asthma and tuberculosis, as well as persistent fevers and various skin disorders. Within the Siddha system, it is also regarded as a 'Kayakalpa' or rejuvenating agent intended to promote longevity and strengthen the body's immune response. While its precise molecular mechanism of action remains largely uncharacterized by modern pharmacology, it is traditionally believed to balance the three humors (Vatha, Pitha, and Kapha) and provide potent anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects.
