Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JHM03 is a recombinant botulinum toxin type A developed as an injectable biologic for the treatment of moderate to severe glabellar lines and upper limb spasticity. It is positioned as a next-generation botulinum toxin product, offering advantages such as higher purity, increased batch yields, streamlined processing, and reduced immunogenic impurities compared to traditional botulinum toxins. The drug acts primarily as a neuromuscular blocking agent by inhibiting acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, leading to temporary muscle paralysis. Additional mechanisms may include acetylcholinesterase inhibition and glutamate antagonism. Developed by JHM BioPharma (Tonghua), it is currently in phase I/II clinical trials for cosmetic and neurological indications[1][4][5][6].
